RAs are responsible for the administration and implementation of the student development program in a residential community.LSU Resident Assistants (RAs) are live-in leaders, role models, and community builders.As one of the premier student leadership positions on campus, RAs are carefully selected, placed on a staff team, and trained by the Department of Residential Life to develop a positive living and learning experience for on-campus residents.RAs create programs that enhance community, meet residents’ personal and academic needs, build positive relationships with residents, and create a safe environment where residents have opportunities to grow academically and socially.College can be a challenging transition for residents, and Don’t miss out on this experience to build your resume, have fun, experience something that is more than just a job, continue enjoying the convenience of living on campus.Prior to selection, the Office of Residential Life may conduct reference checks with Resident Directors and/or campus employers.
Employment in the Resident Assistant job is contingent on successfully passing background checks including student conduct records and state/national crime records.
All RAs and RA applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30 at the end of Fall 2015 to be eligible for the RA application process.
Under the supervision of a Resident Director, RAs perform the following functions: Candidates are considered for an appointment of the full academic year (10 months) to any on-campus residential community.
Employment will start with training during last week of August 2016 and extend through the last day of the 2017 Spring quarter.
A specific start date will be shared during the Spring quarter.
Participation in training is mandatory regardless of assignment.
